About Us

General Leathercraft Manufacturing, Inc. was founded in 1974 as a manufacturer of Pioneer Fitness Products, a line of top quality leather weightlifting belts and accessories. The company originated in Sidney, Nebraska and the corporate offices joined the factory in El Paso, Texas in 1989, where it continued to expand. In 1996, to combat rising costs, the organization relocated to a custom-built 10,000 square foot facility in rural central Texas.

In 1987, with the increase of industrial back injuries and a growing awareness of ergonomics, General Leathercraft Manufacturing Inc. launched Pioneer Safety Products, a division dedicated to the development of personal support systems for backs, knees, wrists and elbows as well as anti-fatigue matting.

In 1994, Pioneer Outdoor Sports was introduced with a specialized line of personal support systems for the sportsman. This line has proven to be very popular with archers, fishermen, hunters, hikers, and anyone engaged in outdoor activities.

General Leathercraft Manufacturing Inc. prided itself on using only 100% American made components for its products and sells under the Pioneer name as well as private labeling for a number of esteemed fitness and safety distributors world-wide.
